The Unwanted FriendA Poem by Dominik D. RitesBeing unwanted isn't exactly a new thing for me.
Your feet scathed the ground
as you came swinging down, your skirt caught in the wind - unaware of what I was in. Shock is a strange emotion, one that gives you the notion that the world is sitting still and that notion is hard to kill. Sadness fills my tiny heart as I wait for my turn to start, but as the clouds close, I wait. It's beginning to get a bit late. I wonder if you have forgotten - or perhaps my mind is rotten. The door opens and you prance, clumsily celebrating in dance. I follow behind with a frown and let my head hang down. I bump you from right behind and watch as you turn to find that I have been all alone - and to that, I felt prone. Waiting, I was, to play, and to that, you say, "We didn't want to play with you anyway."
