November 25th

November 25th

A Poem by Dominik D. Rites
"

The saddest day of the year...

"

November 25th

On the day you died,

I didn't know.

I pulled my curtains,

shades too low.

I blocked the sun.

Don't come in.

I let the guilt conquer,

let it begin.

You found yourself in song,

lyrics obscure.

I lost myself somewhere

without a cure.

I never found a way back,

though I tried

and five years ago today,

you died.

I never forgot you,

not truly,

but I will never forgive

how cruelly

you dropped out of my life.

Poets say death is a shark

waiting,

and they’re right.

It can come at any time and it doesn't pick favorites. I became painfully aware of that.

Gee
Death is always sad but death by ones own hand, well, who knows what goes on in others minds.
Really like the way this is written, a tinge of jealousy :)

To lose yourself in deep thought and creativity can send anyone mad. And many a great artist has become to that one.
