Painfully, Permanently
A Poem by
Dominik D. Rites
I think about you all the time.
E verything you left,
is everything I am.
All that I touch,
reminds me of you.
Your grey jacket,
around my arms,
packed in my heart,
and loose against,
a dining chair.
Your curly hair,
so full of life,
so full of you,
is entangled in,
my wavy streaks,
of auburn locks.
The scars you made,
on my fragile body,
are still red,
still bleeding,
and painfully,
permanently,
there.

I can get the sense of the situation and see it in my mind, the images are so clear. It’s beautiful in a melancholy way.

great job on this poem. i don't know what exactly inspired this, but i felt myself retreating to a place where i felt lost. i feel connected to you in a way because of your writing, though.

Wow, impacting, powerful and speaks volumes to me. The brutality of bad love
