Sunflower YellowA Poem by Dominik D. RitesThe only heaven I'll be sent to is when I'm alone with you.Though I do not believe in a god, Through his many wonders and glorified truth, I believe one should applaud, The many sacrifices, The choices made in youth. Though I do not belong, In a church or religious song, I shall love, For love is strong, And I shall stand right, When I am wrong. I shall love whomever I choose, And hope that one day, That love- I will never lose. In this, I shall pray, That maybe there come a day, Where my love will not be in secrecy, Where I will be heard and not seen, And where my love will not reside in a dream. I may not read a bible, Or remember every hymn title, But I feel just as others do. I smile because my love is true. I cry when I’m feeling blue. I laugh and scream too. She is my world, And I want to be hers, And we do everything that others do, Only we are sunflower yellow, And dandelion hue, And all the others are roses red, And violets blue. © 2017 Dominik D.
