Stranger

A Poem by Flower Child

There are two sides to some of us:
a side everyone knows
and a side no one shows.
People think she's different.
People think she's changed.
The truth?
She has changed,
she is different.
But the side no one knows?
That side will always remain:
a void she's unable to fill,
a place where darkness dwells,
where the smell of rotten flesh reeks
and the taste of blood sticks to your tongue.
But what scares her the most:
the fact that not even she,
the barer of this curse,
knows how dark that part is
and what evil might lurk around the next corner.
She doesn't know the danger that side holds.
She doesn't know when the day might come
that the taste of the blade becomes too sweet
and the beauty of death leaves her breathless...
