SurrenderA Poem by Gabriella Earnestine
You will never know the tempest.
Crackling harmonies Rain-dappled, sun-kissed Let its tempers forge you Lavish in its mists Forsaken. Blazing with regret How it laced the sky with longing But your choice Has sealed your fate. You left it all behind Trailed spiny half-truths and Heart-wrenching eyes Then kicked off your shoes and Plunged neck-deep into the bay In all its tempting idyll. Rippling, intoxicating The perfect facade. Soaked your mind in silence You dreamt rhythm in the hollows Saw stagnance for allure And the bay will take you For the storm knows no regrets Your own words No choice but to Drift Sink So linger in your Vermillion days and Alabaster hues One last chance to be Before the bay sheds its secrets And casts you to the Iron depths Below © 2015 Gabriella EarnestineAuthor's Note
