One of the Ones

This poem is in honor of Coach Lowery who passed away March 31, 2008.

I aspire to be one of the

Ones

I crave to be one of the Ones who

Shines

I desire to smolder so

Brightly

That it metamorphoses into

Magnificence

I yearn for the

Light

To consume me, to congeal, and to

Break

I entreat you to grasp my

Shards

And bear them close to your

Hearts

So you may blaze like I did

Once

I wish for you to shine stronger than

I

My hope is for you to impart my shards onto

Others

And spread that distinctive

Brilliance

So everyone will have a part of

Me

Within their very

Soul
