Day by day

Day by day

A Poem by Giovanna

“Let’s take it day by day” that’s what he said.

He wasn’t too sure what he wanted instead.

But he always wants me to lay by him in bed.

Every passing day, I get more into my head.

Maybe I’m not the one he wants and will pick her instead.

Feeling hopeful of what we have, I can’t stop but wonder what kind of life is ahead.

“Let’s take it day by day” some months had passed.

I can’t help but think “what if we last?”.

Maybe we’ll end up together for awhile and my search for my perfect someone would end at last.

Maybe he’ll put her before “us” and leave me last, instead of his past.
