Empty promises

Empty promises

A Poem by Giovanna

A promise ring with empty promises, what am I to do?

The love I gave you doesn’t mean s**t to you.

The times we shared and all we went through.

You gave me an engagement ring later on with no meaning too.

The future we had seemed bright and blue.

Wedding bells ringing and us saying “I do”.

That’s what I thought it would be like if I married you.

You threw me down and shattered me into two.

You looked at me with disgust and mouthed 5 words,“I don’t actually love you”.

That’s when I realized, I’d be just fine without you.
