![]() Separated RelationshipA Poem by Autumn T.![]() A poem based on an acorn cap, about my shattered relationship with my father...![]() Acorn cap. Brown, Bowl-shaped, Rough, Like sand, Small, stub-stem protrudes from the top.
Reminds a girl, A sad, lost teen, Of summers At Dad's House, Hunting for acorns in the woods, Prying off caps, Cracking them open, To ease the already-hard-working squirrels, Of having to crack the hard shells themselves.
The acorn hunting occurred, Long before the girl and her father began their constant quarrels, Became emotionally separated, Grown apart.
Yet here the sad teen is, Writing this. A small acorn, Without its cap To offer protection. © 2011 Autumn T.Author's Note
