You

You

A Poem by Flower

Sometimes you can't see the pain in one's eyes,
They make you believe that it's all okay,
You don't realise that it's all just lies,
You are like the others, easily led astray.

How does one express what they are feeling,
Without being too much of a burden?
For fear that I may be slowly pealing,
When I will tell someone, it's uncertain.

It's not your job to make me feel better,
And I realise that I'm just holding you back,
Afore my sad words become a lost letter,
Tell me, would you care if I cracked?

I break down in tears, but you hold my hand,
Why, oh why you chose to help me is strange,
For I am to you, so very much bland?
But you stand by me, aiding me to change.

It wasn't your job, but you made it yours,
Forgive me, I was very much surprised,
I may not have to shut my many doors,
For I slowly changed, as you had advised.

You were once like me, that's why you had helped,
You had fought the battles I was fighting,
You had seen me struggle as I yelped,
I screamed, I fell, but I kept on writing.
