unfocused eyes

unfocused eyes

A Poem by Kira
"

(she does not speak, like she's frightened of what will claw its way out of her throat)

"

(she has unfocused eyes

and it scares him

in a different way

than she scared him before.)

she rejects food--

her whole body,

her whole being,

and she vomits on her knees

(they both pretend he doesn't hear)

she has unfocused eyes

staring in that unfocused way

at nothing in particular

(and he hates her

for checking out and leaving him alone)

(she does not speak

like she's frightened

of what will claw its way

out of her throat)

she dries herself out

a husk of a girl in the light

that burns in the sun

and who sees green flicker

(behind her eyes that never close

completely)

(she is so tired.)

Well, I don't believe it to be your intention, but this reminds me of my mother. I guess that may be bad to say, but I think you do an amazing job of writing and am quite glad you've decided to share it.

You seem to like abnormal themes, it's interesting if a bit peculiar.

I find there is a certain desperation in your writing which has a lot of soul.
