![]() orbitA Poem by Kira![]() The first sonnet I've written outside of English class.![]() Two suns blaze in the dark expanse of space And I, one planet small, am bound between Orbiting as though in a useless race I am drawn to both by a force unseen
My path across the sky is infinite; Or at least that is my own orbit's shape In a dance so callous yet intricate That I have no prayer of a quick escape
Both the suns take no heed of my passing They are, of course, consumed by their own flame And yet I am doomed to float between them Both so different yet achingly the same
And though my path is millions of years old It's only now to me that space feels cold.
