when kira comes

when kira comes

A Poem by Kira

i never really register the times when kira takes me

until afterwards. maybe there are more times;

sometimes i can't remember them, only to hear of them later.

but i can feel her coming in the late night,

feel her writhing cold and ugly in my bloated stomach,

feel her blink her wide, dark-blue eyes, almost innocent.

feel her spill out to anyone that will listen,

whisper stories of cutting and starving and hating,

when i want to scream, That's not me, it's you.

feel her dig her claws in my lungs when i try to protest.

feel her stumble to the bathroom and snatch the razor.

feel her revel in the pain, when i just feel cold or nothing.

i never really register the times when kira takes me,

not really. how can i, when even staring at the blood,

i can't really prove to myself she exists?

Kira, I like your writing. I like the stories it tells (even if they arent happy). I think what you have captured here is a discription that would serve anyone with multiple personalities with a way to define their own confusion - not sure if that is what you intend but it works just the same...so upon completing your published works I would say your profile is incorrect...you are indeed worth knowing in all you unaverage averageness :)

This is intense and...I don't even know how else to describe it. It just gave me shivers. It's like someone else is taking over you...
