Napping

Napping

A Poem by J

I settle down upon the surface,
Seeking out my perfect spot.
Carefully, I examine near surroundings,
Nameless objects materialize before my eyes.

I secure my target,
Circling, double-checking my calculations.
First, my lower half sets the foundation,
Then, my tail wraps around my hind legs.

Finally, gravity pulls my chin towards your arm,
I'm nestled, safe.
There's never been a more perfect place
For a cat nap.
