Fantasy

A Poem by FlamingPhoenix
"

...conquered...

"
i long for Your touch
i yearn for Your protective embrace
Is it asking too much
To want to see Your desire for me written on Your face

i want to feel Your weight on me
Shiver in blissful ecstasy
As You release into me
You have become my only fantasy

i am no longer a conquest for You to win
Now I sit and watch as others become Your game
Settling for the reality that now You are only a friend
Broken-hearted i know my life will never again be the same

So many unfulfilled dreams in life, yet if every dream was fulfilled would be really be happy?

The dreaded friend zone can be an awfully lonely place at times...I absolutely loved 'i want to feel Your weight on me'...I don't think there could be a better image to relay the conflicting states-of-mind in this piece...great work Phoenix :)

The pain of realizing someone who you want as a lover and more is just a friend and nothing more -- very sad.

Aw Flame. There is definitely a game going on at WC, but I hardly believe that passing a compliment is equivalent to conquering. Getting used to someone's compliments to have them truncated and suddenly ripped away... is, well, cruel. Unfortunately cruel people are everywhere. A cautionary tale in a sad poem. Hope this never really happened. Hugs.
