Unconditional

When I look into Your eyes
I see truth even underneath the words You use as a disguise

When I feel Your skin
My Spirit, realizing You exist, quickens

When I feel You release into me
Every part of me cherishingly receives

When I look at You I know
Both light and dark and want You to grow

I do not want You to change who You are
I just want to leave footprints across Your heart

As I embrace Your weaknesses and Your strengths
Give You my everything rather than holding You at arm's length

You are my friend, my Master, my Daddy, my lover and my love
To deny this would be to deny everything beneath and above

I want to hold You while You cry
I want to dance with You under the starry sky

I want to watch You express every bit of Your truth
I want to stand as Yours and walk through it beside and with You

I want to let You kiss me
Trusting in You, reveal every vulnerability

I want to grow old together
Discovering every tear and smile with You forever

That's just a start
A love letter to You from my heart

There is true beauty in these words Phoenix...you really have captured that unconditional love here...I love the progression from erotic to romantic, and it's hard not to make a spiritual link to those emotions in the way you've laid it out, or maybe that's just me :) I never like picking out 'favourite' parts of a poem, but the third couplet is awesome...great work :)

That was very good. I'm not overly good at stating how I feel about poetry (it's really not my main topic) but of all the love poems I've read in the last few years, that's the only one that's really made me think the person who wrote it was being truly genuine.

This is beautiful. I am glad you sent the request. It is hard to check sometimes all the different writers, and this is by far the best use of the read request, to touch base when you put up something new. They rarely work for me, and I have given up on them mostly, but I do appreciate you bringing this lovely poem to my attention. I really like the second stanza, and the sensual, romantic feel to the piece. Well done.
