Good Riddance

Good Riddance

A Poem by FlamingPhoenix
"

Who needs a fake friend?

"
Love me or don't
I refuse to care anymore
About fake friends who won't
Accept me for who I am at the core

Judgment, hypocrisy, and righteous indignation
You are no better than I
And I don't need your holy salvation
Not even a single tear at your departure I cry

I am too busy grieving my broken-heart
And blazing my future path
To worry about your gossip-filled fiery darts
On you, my time would be wasted feeling a shred of wrath

Rather I feel a sense of relief
I can easily choose a few new friends
Remove my masks and freely be
Knowing they see more than my sin

Good riddance indeed.

From a magnet I once owned;

"Here's to you and here's to me. Best friends we'll always be. And if by chance we disagree; to hell with you and here's to me."

Don't let judgmental idjits get to you.

Great poem by the way. Well written.

My pleasure
"knowing they see more than my sin" -- and he who is without sin should cast the first stone -- yes, there are those out there who love a person for all of them, no matter what the all entails. This is beautifully written, and an emotional write.

A very heart felt piece. It's always difficult when one is betrayed by a friend you trust. I feel a lot of people who read this will empathize with your words. Clive.
