An Angel's Plea

An Angel's Plea

A Poem by FlamingPhoenix
"

What if...

"
My friends are confused by my broken heart
It's been long enough that I should have made a fresh start
They try to tell me you are not worthy of me
Saying "You're smarter" "You're prettier" than she

Truthfully I'm uncertain how I've come to be this way
How long in my heart do you intend to stay
I'm strong, I'm ambitious, and beautiful too
But if you asked, I'd forever belong to you

Reach out to me and let us begin
I'd be content if we could try to be friends
If you ever felt anything please give us a chance
Our meeting was not by sheer circumstance

Sometimes the mending process begins only when we learn to accept...
Very relatable piece.

Good point...my pleasure
chance meeting on the page
alone so , but not lonely, two stepping the difference
puts a tickle in the tank. a crinkle in a wink.
