No More Apologies

No More Apologies

A Poem by FlamingPhoenix
"

So mote it be

"
You ain't gonna hear
Another apology from me
I have no desire to endear
Anyone to me
I may be selfish and vain sometimes
But my choices
I own them every time
I may be conniving and a little naive
But that is only one side that you are able to see
If you look a little deeper you'd see a lot more
That is if I let you see to my core
I am much stronger than most people know
It's time to allow my power to grow

For me your writings are always informative. With this one I see a gentler use of words. You use the word "apology" early in line 2, telling. I read the whole poem as a sort of apology.
"look a little deeper" as though asking to be understood, AND admitting to being somewhat selfish and vain, whilst retaining control of your life in the line "I own them every time."
Had I been asked to guess the author I would not have thought of you. That is a good thing by the way.
Very well done, expressive and what's more IT RHYMES. Brill.
