Instinct

Instinct

A Poem by FlamingPhoenix
"

Something new...

"
Tonight

On my way home
In my time and space to be alone

I thought I saw you
And oddly, something new

Something unexpected and purely instinctual
My need to escape you felt critical

No desire to see your face
No reminder of your embrace

The very thought of being near
Presented a reality sharp and clear

Fright

Phoenix,
I love your work. It is short and lyrical with a master wordsmith's ability to captive each line. I love how you finished the poem with "Fright". Nice!!!
