TrustA Poem by FlamingPhoenixFinding the place in me that no longer trusts you...Leaving my cage I find myself electrified with rage "Please, please let me be your friend...," you plead No longer a lover to share my bed I gave you time and I gave you space Lovingly contemplating when I would see your beautiful face I took a long look in the mirror And did the work to extinguish my childhood demons and fear While you threw me away, blocked me out Looking within, I was consumed in self-doubt You hypocrite! You're one to speak of trust An unforgiving mistress of a sheltered broken-heart, lead by unquenchable lust Empowered, I spread my wings wide Taking flight, I push my pain and self-blame aside I bask in the glorious power of my anger Allowing you to once again become nothing more than a stranger © 2014 FlamingPhoenixReviews
