Strolling down an unknown New York City street
Feeling alive as my feet Hit the pavement in a foreign land Yet knowing precisely where I am Years later, I awake from an obsession With just one heartbreaking confession I'm not ready and I knew that then What I most needed was a friend Where are MY feet? I forgot to ask MY self when under the spell of our power and heat Pastor showed me three boxes, gave me one, and told me to choose To pick box 2 or 3, I'd have to be willing of box 1 to lose Excited, like an impetuous child, by the unknown treasure in box 2 I allowed myself to become enmeshed with you Forgetting MY self, MY dreams, MY ambitions But now finding myself in a different position After I awoke, feeling disillusioned, and remembering all who come and go Once again, my heart like a river, back to source, begins to flow Off in the distance, I see the setting sun And remember that in finding MY self again, I've truly won © 2014 FlamingPhoenixFeatured Review
