The Towers

The Towers

A Poem by Von Alis

The skies, they screamed

Look at the towers, they lean

The fire, the smoke, walls where light once gleamed

Now they fall, into rubble as we run toward the scene

Ashes to ashes

Dust to dust

The place where flame now lashes

The place where dreams turn to rust

But we rise from the rubble

We are born of the dust

We rise above the rabble

We clean away the rust

We rush to save the living

And to carry those from their smoldering graves

Now we fight to stop the killing

We are the land that saves

This land that is home to me

This land our lives we gave

The land of the free

And the home of the brave

AMERICA!!!! And not just America, other countries did the same I'm sure. xD Very good poem. From war to peace, at least in my perception. Not much criticism needed, but you forgot the 'h' in 'where' in the second stanza. This kind of makes me want to wave my flag around. Woot~

A very heart felt poem. The words felt true, the message is without question. Nicely done.
