How To Die

How To Die

A Poem by Von Alis
"

Thoughts of a suicidal "How To" book writer

"
Life is but fleeting
When you lie bleeding
Out in the middle of the floor
And no one walks through the door

Tight 'round your neck the noose
Take care not to tie it loose
Climb the top of your chair
Life seems so real high in the air

Feel the emptiness below you
Momma will soon sit in the pew
Kick your pedestal away
Feel your body sway

Arms and legs will flail
All to no avail
Mind and lungs fail
Dogs chase their tail

The music box chimes
Check church times
Life flashes by
And you choose to die

Oh dear. This was sad.

That one line "Dogs chase their tail" seems a little awkward. Might be it's supposed to be for the futile effort of attempting to go back from that choice, but it still seems awkward.

Otherwise, very vivid, very grasping.
