This is the Place

This is the place

that time is born

quick as its pace

we soon will mourn

such is its grace

we feel a scorn

yet we still race

to hold its form

this impossible chase

of nevermore

 

Time doesn’t understand

this relentless pursuit

when its granted

out of hand

nor the treasure

of our youth

or the measure

of its remand

so it never

gives commute

for the pleasure

of our demand

 

and if you ask

for its name

it may reply

constant change

for if you bask

in the frame

soon your site

is not the same

my endless task

is to break the planes

of the here and now

and can't be tamed

I think you quite break the planes very nicely, brother bunny.
Your poetry is always a refreshing break from the morose voices we all seem to share so often.
You show that poetry still can be written to make the reader smile with a semblance of hope.

Thank you so much Jacob:) That is exactly what I have been trying to do:) Get my head out of the yuck that has been surrounding us lately when we read something sometimes we just want a little whimsy with a side of joy lol

Two words stand out in this one: constant change. That is the name of the game on this plane of existence, and this offering has captured our plight beautifully. As it says, time never gives commute for the pleasure of our demand. Only in the sacred moment of now are we saved from this fate.

Deja vu what do you mean? Tell me more:) this one was a bit different for me I was creeping around in my workshop and came across a birds nest I had saved years ago and decided to put a pocket watch in it lol and I said to myself that this is the place time is born and poof I wrote this poem
