Today I’m 54

Just a silly scribble on my birthday

Today is the day
I turn 54
And the lines I display
Might say somewhat more
And the state of my grey
not as keen as afore
and the step in my sway
gets a little more sore
and the choice on my tray
could be a bit more
and the weight that I weigh
is a dubious score
but it is safe to say
it might be somewhat more
but today is the day
and all of you… I adore
from the fracas and fray
and the bothersome snores
from the sneeze that you spray
the left socks on the floor  
and the things that you say
that leave me wanting for more
for you are the bouquet
that makes life living for

I was watching the Scripps national spelling bee the other day and I was thinking about you because every time there is a Scottish-derived word I would get stumped yeesh what a language you have!!!

Depends which one of our three languages you are talking about. English, Scottish which is a language in its own right or Gaelic which no one can understand anyway.
