when the love of your life is no longer in your life

Cruelly cast aside,
nonchalantly rejected

Annihilated heart you
once protected

Treated as though I
am terminally infected

Tormented by how easily
I was discarded, disconnected

Callously ignored, alienated
And disrespected

My eternal despair has
Left you unaffected

Eternal despair is a pretty heavy burden to carry... it seems that you get little recognition and can be very depressing...when someone is ignores it is painful...and your words express these emotions quite well...

oh, what a stab to the heart. i have been here before, and the worst part is knowing for the other person this wasn't even a bump in the road. this work not only has depth but skillfully penned. there are a lot of Cs and Ts that give this work a phonetically hard-edge. an appropriate choice, given this is such a jaggd feeling you are describing. it's raw and pure pain but a work that stands up as a piece of poetry.
