How it feels when the one you love doesn't love you

When my eyes opened this morning…instantly I remembered
my life as it is now

Emptiness and heartache consumes me

The emotional pain I have strangles my soul

I no longer live…I merely exist

I long for the day my eyes don’t open

People say time heals all...
this is not true

I wish I could have my old life back

I wish I had you in my life again

I wish I didn’t miss you as much as I do

I wish...
you missed me

If true - suspect it is, am so sad and sorry you feel this/that way, If fiction, you would be the kindest friend another person could have, empathy full.

Exactly as unrequited love, tends to hurt more than normal.
I feel all the raw heavy emotions dripping continuously out of this poem.
I remember my days of heartache, the way you write so similar to when I wrote about pain...

The word choice is simple yet powerful, with phrases like "emptiness and heartache consumes me" and "I long for the day my eyes don't open" evoking a strong sense of despair.

A very sad picture you have painted... a lost soul whose love left her...despair is real and when you are in it, it seems like it will never go away...you are in a deep void... and it takes a long time to come out of the dark depths... but it will happen... loss, no matter how it happens is almost like death.... time does have a way of healing, and i hope it goes quickly for you.... very well expressed...

I would much preferred this poem was from my imagination unfortunately it was created from reality.
Certain events bring thoughts of this estranged relationship to mind and I debate if I should do something or just accept things as they are now.
So many emotions swirl inside me like a tornado.
Perhaps one day I will know what to do.

Time does not heal all wounds. It merely mutes them into a tolerable transition. When a wound is fresh and still open and raw it hurts like hell but as time goes by the wound scabs over and doesn’t sting as much. When the scab is gone a scar remains but it doesn’t hurt as it did when it first happened.
