Breathe

Breathe

A Poem by scribblesandsuch

As the walls close in, my heart starts to beat,

Always trapped, though seemingly free,

Take me away, to the cool, crisper air,

Let me wash the smoke and filth from my hair,

And lead me to a pool, reflective and deep,

A place where Time has gone to sleep,

For in the purity, there will I lie,

There will I sleep, and there will I die,

That is the place my heart knows best,

That is the end for my lifelong quest,

Bathe me in laughter, give me no less,

And drape me in the sweet embrace of death.
