The Final Payment.

If you think about it... Life is a gift, a very expensive one. Eventually, whether we like it or not, we have to pay for the time we were given on this Earth.

 

Too happy to think,

Too happy to speak

Overwhelming nostalgia

Brought on by nothing.

A smile for the future,

A laugh for what is yet to come

Pale beauty in sunlight

To never give up on the fight

They say everything is pure luck

Sarcastic comments as I trudge through muck

Talentless but an expert,

Broke but happy.

Alone but crowded

Abandoned bu supported

I am forgotten,

Yet I will never die.

Work for what I need,

Pay for what I want,

Life is a game,

Where nobody wins,

Some are simply luckier,

Until the end…

When we give our life

In exchange for our given time with the living.

Wow...this was really creative. I am wondering what inspired this piece :) And yes, it pays to live life nowadays, it doesn't all come easy. We eventually have to learn to live on our own, look out for ourselves and know who to trust. We can't depend on others forever and can't expect to get everything we want. We have to work for it and take time out of our day to dedicate for it.

Thank you ^_^ I thought it up while I was thinking about my future and how I'm poor and not very smart, with only talent for writing and film. While others are born rich and talented and have a fast track to what they want. Then I started getting really happy for no apparent reason about how broke and poor I will be on my path to be a Director and writer and then BAM this poem crawled out of me :) Yes, exactly. ^_^

Well, first thing, we can't all be born with the same amount of talent or intelligence as someone else. But believe that somewhere in you, you are smart. No matter what you think, you're smart and good at and for something. If you're good at something, you have talent and if you're not good at it, the more you practice that thing, you will gain talent for it. We are all smart in some way, but not for every subject.

I agree, I do find it funny how some of the most successful people were highschool dropouts, or didn't do well in highschool, meanwhile when one is a teenager you are only defined by your grades. I'm smart with computers, but can't talk to people. life is fickle :P

Yeah, I hate how school is all about status and who gets better grades and stuff. I was never good with grades and whatever, but I graduated highschool and going back to my last semester of college in 11 days to graduate and get my Associates Degree and hopefully go off to a new college for the fall semester. I finally know what I want to do and it's such a release and pressure off my shoulders, not many people bothering me or nagging me about how I should find out what I want to do...but I know what I'm passionate about and good at. And that's writing...it's my life and I plan on becoming a writer.

yeah school is rather ridiculous... Well it's good that you chose to be a writer, judging my the works you have posted on here, you are highly gifted ^_^ Really, you have a way with words. I hope someday I'll be able to pick up a book and go all hipster when I can say "Yeah, I liked her stuff before she was a best seller ;) "

Haha, yeah. I've written a couple stories and hoping to get them published over the summer hopefully. Just have to talk to my mom about it and everything. And perhaps a book of poetry I can publish. I'll have to get some of those together. But thanks, my brother was the one who honestly got me into writing and taught me all about grammer and everything...so, I just wrote and gained the talent I guess. But he's taught me a lot and I thank him so much for exposing me to the art of writing cause I have no clue where I would be without it...honestly. It has helped me say so many things I can't say in person to those around me.

That's so cool how your brother introduced you to it :D :D I know exactly what you mean at the end there... I can't talk to people in real life and don't say anything about myself, so I put everything about myself into my poetry. :3 I'd probably be a drug addict if I wasn't a literature nerd.

Haha, yeah exactly. I would be doing some pretty bad things if it weren't for writing and books. I was such a bookworm when I was younger and still am after all this time...perhaps because it helps me escape reality and puts me in a new world that I wish to be instead of where I actually am now. I like books better than my own life...that's why I have so many. I love the adventure and characters I am introduced to. I try to compare myself to characters sometimes...

I know those feels... reality... nobody can spell, form proper arguments... dirty, grungy society is all TOO REAL for me... I wrote a poem on here called MUDDLED, about how my Doctor Who fandom and fantasy of books make life really boring... If I could hop from book to book as a job.. life would be great :3

Yeah, just read books and just review them or something. Being a book editor would be pretty cool too. As long as you're doing something you love. And yeah, reality begins to be alittle much most of the time, so I just stick my nose in any book I can possibly find and just read each word, paragraph, chapter and just flip the pages as I read. Not caring about page numbers or what time it is, I just want to be out of reality and somehwere else.
