Inspired by Joan Jett and David Bowie

This doesn't feel like just a phase,

My whole body's in a daze

i've been running circles in this maze.

on the inside looking out

Run-Jump-Scream-Shout

You cannot keep me in this cage

Not when I'm filled with all this rage

Watch me break all the rules

Set all good morals ablaze

I've got red lightening on my face-

To get me out of this place. 

Judge me on the street,

Size me up like a piece of meat

Come closer-feel my heat

You wish you had what I have.

My Story's never ending,

I'll live to be a legend,

You'll wish you got to know me,

You'd beg to be this free.

i don't care if you agree

I'm not here to please,

i'm here to correct the lie,

and write a story that will never die.

This was the first poem I've ever written inspired by Rock n' Roll.. and it is also the worst poem I have written about Rock n' Roll.. haha

Spunky and full of angry sugar!! : ) I had one picture in my head: Watching Saturday morning cartoons/listening to people in my family argue about what THEY wanted to do that day/wanting to go outside and keep running and running!! Teen angst would sum up my whole childhood..... not the times where I would get so upset, strip everything off, and go running through the neighborhood until I passed out in someone's yard "long story", but the NORMAL days when you feel the need to break free!! ....sorry. Sure, I like the POEM, but I LOVE the author who puts down on the very page, lines that make my heart jump, words that are so sweet and recognizable that they get me excited, and just the over-all story. It's not that easy to have that "convenient" complete thought to end your poems the way they do!! Some of your poems should end with a hug from me, selfishly in a soft squish!! lol Halfway through this poem, I felt like we were standing together, jumping in place and smiling like goofballs, and about to psyche ourselves up to go running and doing other crazy things in the woods.... laughing the whole way through!! blah I need more synonyms for "thank you!!" XD haha, Sometimes a good ending for a poem will just, appear, then other times I sit there staring at it FOREVVERRR until I BS my way into one haha. Thank you so much for enjoying my work :3

I like your writing style its so similar to mine I rhyme a lot :P, I like that this is inspired by Rock n Roll its like a rebel anthem,
"i don't care if you agree

This is really flippin cool. I can feel the connection with Rock music here. I love the rebelliousness of it, and I really enjoy writing that has a 'youthful' and 'alternative' feel to it. Good job :)
