Never Again

You made me a fool/ For your own twisted game. Written in response to an event that made me lose a good friend.

 

I’m shrouded in darkness,

I can’t see the light.

I wish I could make peace,

But only want to fight.

 

My heart has been hardened

I did what I could.

And now I can’t help

But feel more hate than I should.

 

You made me a fool

For your own twisted game.

And I know deep inside

Things will never be the same.

 

I don’t care that they know.

I can push that aside,

But you humiliated me

On that long, cold bus ride.

 

Now I’ve lost a good friend,

And the fault is on you.

I don’t take well to that,

So what will you do?

 

You can’t make amends

With false words of sorrow,

Nor will this blow away

In the breeze of tomorrow.

 

So I’ll harden my heart more

And I’ll make my feelings wane.

I won’t allow myself to fall

I swear, never again.
