Bridge of Broken Dreams

This bridge to you seems to travel on forever
I have been walking so long all the while keeping my eyes on us
The horizon seems so close now
I stumbled and fall
I lay there trying to catch my breath
I try to stop my mind from reeling
just when I think all will be okay
the bridge seems to extend
I look up and notice the seagulls circling
waiting to feast on my heart ache
I try to get up and dust myself off
Pick my sanity up off this 
never ending bridge of broken dreams
Through my tears I can still see the horizon
I continue to walk on
trying to shed all this hopelessness and dread
