Sunrise

These walls were built with care
so much time invested
only to have them torn down in one day.
With only a couple of words
all my defenses were gone.
Every twist and turn in my life
seemed to lead up to that fateful
day that we first spoke.
Every heartache every let down
seemed worth it now with you in my life.
Sunlight shines on this path I now walk
my horrid nights now bearable
for now I know every sunrise leads to you.
