Tug of War

I stand here in awe again
as your harsh words fall over me
Leaving my heart feeling fractured
A haze of ice seems to form between us 
Lines have clearly been drawn
As you stake you claim
I struggle to break these chains
This constant battle remains
You push and I pull
In this endless tug of war
