Ice Queen

Once again I feel that all to
familiar chill fill the air around me
You're eyes burn Ice blue
With one word I hear the ice flow
through your veins, hardening your
heart to anything I have to say
I'm carefully choosing my words
trying not to anger you further
As the temperature continues to drop
Your words like shards of glass
pierce my already wounded heart
I sink to the floor trying to catch my breath
I can feel you standing over me
your hand is so cold on my shoulder
It is meant to tell me it will be okay
But I know better.
It will only be a matter of time
before I see the Ice Queen again
