Dreadful Winter

Dreadful Winter

A Poem by Andrea

The months of Summer had vanished
so much as the mirage did.
A peak of wonder and it drifted into thin air.
Soon , the orange and red leaves graced the grass.
The wind was steady and quite fast.
The beauty stood still for just a moment.
The time just kept on ticking.
Winter had arrived unexpected.
The season we thought of Joy.
Christmas time came in December
It was a delightful time for most.
The solstice of Winter came around.
But in the mind of someone who couldn't forget,
there was something awful she had to remember.
The gray skies left Her melancholy.
The cold air chilled her bones.
The Winter effect wasn't the most chilling thing.
It was the things she couldn't let go.
She wanted to run from the past,
but it pierced her heart and her arms.
The mental disease had her trapped,
she thought she couldn't go far.
The Winter was just a way,
to remind her attempted suicide.
It was also a reminder of when things were broken.
Her heart was the most damaged of them all.
She didn't let herself die.
She wanted to keep trying.
Things had gotten so bad,
she just couldn't stop crying.
Every year when Winter hits,
she feels the agony that she can never hide.
She feels the pain of a Winter mist,
and it makes her want to die.

Winter can bring sadness and loneliness. This is a good poem for Winter. All of us dream of rebirth of hope and new dreams in the Spring. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Most certainly. Winter can be very depressing. It's only nice during Christmas cuz of family time.
