Firefly glimpseA Poem by AndreaA poem about hope in the dark. A light in the shadows.
Night fell upon this small and silent town.
Most people were already in a deep slumber. A girl in the picture almost heard no sound. She questioned why so quiet on this evening of Summer. Although there was a mask around her face, she wanted at least one person to be awake. Loneliness had tugged at her heart. The evening of solitude was covered in warmth. But yet her heart managed to stay cold because it was always dark. The shadows in her mind rewrote her thoughts. She could almost feel them taking over. Midnight arrived and she was almost lost. She tried to hide from the agony, she wanted to take cover. Suddenly, a bright light appeared in front of her eyes. She felt a yearning for this overwhelming feeling. As it neared closer, she knew... it was a glimpse of a firefly. The pain lifted slowly off her chest. For the first time in her life she was able to breathe. Now she could finally rest.
