The Mirror

The Mirror

A Poem by FirePanther
"

Just look in the mirror

"

Hello, do you know me?

I dwell in the darkness where you can’t see

I hid in the shadows under your bed

I lurk in your thought deep inside your head

I’m the voice that pushes you to kill

I’m the reason your body remains still

Do you know who I am now? You will soon enough

I’m always with you, getting rid of me is tough

I’m constantly behind you, breathing down your neck

Chasing your sanity, calling you a reject

I’ll torment you, causing you to bleed

Where your deepest darks fears are where I feed

Do you know who I am yet? Do you need a clue?

Just look in the mirror, all you’ll see is you.

The idea that we are ourselves worst enemy runs through this poem and it's a strong one.I like the way you built up to it and the imagery you use.Nice work!

I really do not know what to say with this poem. It is well written and so amazingly deep. There is just so many levels to this that it has left me thinking.
