![]() I'm Out of HereA Poem by JessicaI'm hitting the road. A notebook, a full tank of gas, the clothes on my body, and a smile on my face. I'm outta here.
Going to peace. Finding myself on the road. Heading nowhere but everywhere at the same time. Who knows where I'll end up? All I know is I'm outta here.
Shoes hit the pavement in a rhythmic beat in cities and parks. Sand tickles my toes at the beach and the sun explodes. Here I go again.
Rain wets my hair walking down a country road. The smell is overpoweringly sweet. I taste my joy, catching raindrops on my tongue. I'm off again.
Summer sun swirls over me, kissing my face, arms, and legs. Meadow grass comforts me, and butterflies flutter inches from my eyes. I breathe it in, I'm going home.
A warm bed waits for me, beckoning as I step throught the door. My keys hit the floor. Behind closed eyes, I remember things. I fall into my deep slumber, and I'm gone again... © 2010 JessicaReviews
