The Dark and the Light

The Dark and the Light

A Poem by FireFox9

Life and death go hand in hand
For without life there is no hope
And without death life is eternal
Both are needed to keep balance

Without death, life becomes an everlasting battle
No reprieve, no laughter, no joy
All that is left are the horrors of the world
Sorrow, pain, and misery is all that remains

But what about life, is it wasted on us
Some will say, yes, we abuse our lives
Others say, nay, we choose our own path
But in the end without life what is left in this world?

In this world that we created
In this world that we destroyed
What have I done?
What have we done?

Thank you Fox-
You set your words on fire in the mind... to understand these vast contrasts.. concepts of life and death.. dark and light.. this mix of all things around us... and our place among them... A powerful, stirring write.

Thank you that was very deep.
"What have I done?
What have we done?"
Those two lines, they seem familiar. Like I've heard them before, yet they seem to hold a strong emotion within them as well. Very sincere.
You have a good point, about the balance of life and death, and what would happen if one were to vanish.
Well done. ^^

You're welcome. ^^
Life and death go hand in hand( yep it does, where there is life there is death, what ant attractive way of starting such a poem.

For without life there is no hope
And without death life is eternal...OH there is fire within this line..and it complements what i just said. we all want to live eternally, immortally and spiritually, where there will be no more pain, no strain only the rain showering us with new emotion and manifested devotions, but the only way to get there is through death.

In this world that we created
In this world that we destroyed
What have I done?
What have we done?...here i feel like a spirit is talking to me, like the world was ending and i have to reach for my pocket in search of my deeds,

i am always afraid of death but this poem reveals death as a necessity and one must do something before eternity is presented to.

wonderful poem, i so love...straight into my library it goes.
