A Fair WarningA Poem by Jack E.Written for someone who doesn't even know who he is - in the most existential way possible.
This one’s for you, pal… I can’t fathom that I hate everything you are Because in truth I can’t fathom you But I can look through the mirror; through the fog And I can see your ugly, tainted reflection You’re that sickening, rotting shell That I used to be Before I broke free; before I blossomed Clawing, scraping – dirt beneath your nails Trying to hold on To what you think is life and what you think Is love When in reality, you’re just clawing at the ceiling of Your cold grave – and that’s the simple truth, brother But you can’t very well see what the truth is Because she spat her venom into your eyes Made you blind with her toxins And what’s what is that you let her Get away it – run away with the greater part of Your weak, little soul And what’s left thereafter isn’t going to be enough to sustain you Keep you whole, keep you sane Once she shatters you completely - like that filthy mirror That I look through everyday So heed me well, brother Because the Ides aren’t so make-believe And she’ll be coming soon for you Though I’m sure that’s exactly what you want to hear But brother, you’d better stay sharp And never turn your back, because She’ll get down on her knees for you She’ll give you everything you want Be your lover, your w***e Your one and only But you had better beware of her teeth Her fangs When they sink into your skin When they draw your blood You’ll be bound and gagged; chained up Just like all the other pitiful souls Who’ve been ensnared In her twisted labyrinth of cause So heed my warning Take to your feet, brother Run to the hills For it’s darkest just ‘fore the dawn But the sun never rises again© 2008 Jack E.Reviews
