Black Starlight

Black Starlight

A Poem by Jack E.

The wind rattles the trees like bones in the grave
The breeze whispers mnemonic secrets
The moon cast an effulgent hue
A penumbra scarred upon the firmament

Abrasions lacerate the sky formed in mountaintops
Obsidian obscures the otherworldly
Into nothing less than a singularity
Too close to gaze; too far to grab

Empyrean starfire beyond the breach
A beacon to lonesome banshees
Nigrescent waves curl and storm as thunder
Reaching hollow fingers into the void

Rolling hills inside the iris
Landscapes of shadow within a blink
Behold a panorama of elegent grayscale
What is black starlight

I love the use of the not-so-common words. It makes this piece fit nicely. It also makes one think. Congratulations are an amazing job.
