Mortal Deity

Mortal Deity

A Poem by Thought Provoker

I’ve never believed in forever. Every sorrow, every thrill, every delight is inevitably temporary. But at this moment, at this very state of solid rapture, where competence is effortless, as I lay here juggling Saturn and its moons, as I gift stars to passing strangers. My eyes glisten, my heart beats ruby red and my skin is illuminated by a golden hue. As I am fooled into temporary happiness, a sickly condition veiled as a warm wind holding you snug that is instantly clasped away leaving you frigid and jolted.  I’d like to remain here temporarily, forever.

We must believe in the permanence of
our ideals, or our rapture and passion.
We always think it will last and perhaps
it will---- why not? If he believes the same
why should it not last forever ?
