Guilty Insult

Guilty Insult

A Poem by Thought Provoker

No painting or visual image can measure up to the pleasure of reading a book. For a stroke of a paint brush is not equivalent to the gesture of a pen holder. No melody soothes my ears like the sound of a beautiful sonnet, and no combination of flavors can satisfy my taste buds more than the utterance of literature. Some might say my words are foolish but when you posses a passion for something, any recognition of that art is not enough. A struggling writer lives a difficult life for he can not find joy in visual colors on a canvas. Instead he must create a rainbow from the black and white words he sculpts into art with his pen.

This is rather beautiful, true to the writer's perspective. I love how you brought up the struggle that we writers have, trying to find something to love in the world, other than writing. A passionate writer can only think about words, how to elicit this unique beauty from them, and express themselves. Arguably, the amount that we get to express ourselves from writing is quite different from expressing yourself through music, or other means. I love the flow of words, it was just beautiful to read, and I found myself lost in your pleasant verbosity.
