Injustice

Injustice

A Poem by Novelist101

In the air of midnight, I set my sorrows free

Speaking words of wisdom, let it be

No man knows the troubles, trials and disturbances

The many death stares and scornful glances

Ridden of my innocence, a stolen virtue

All because I wanted to seek what was true

Of family and friends, loved ones and significant others

My husband, my wife, my sister, my brother

Do you believe in justice, do you believe in truce?

Do you believe standing up has use?

What do we do, where do we go?

How will we understand, how will we know?

Until then I continue to sleep and eat

Continue to wallow in the sweat of the kitchen's heat

Until then I sing, I sing let it be

In the air of midnight and set my sorrows free
