Rose Buds and Burning Plains

Rose Buds and Burning Plains

A Poem by Sunshadow Coyote

Red and crimson.
Touching and breathing.
Everything covered in sweet dew.

Lovely and poisonous.
Pounding and stress.
Message not received.

Crashing and burning.
Spark and light
Smoke fills your soul.

I like how short it is. When readers see a shorter length, I feel like they realize that they have to pay attention more or risk missing a detail. It also invites readers to reread the poem multiple times...which I did.
As for your meaning, well it's definitely unique. I can't really put it into words but I liked it. I can tell this was out of your comfort zone, and factoring that in, it came out very nice.
This one will make them think...depending on their perspective of course..
