Stolen Love

Stolen Love

A Poem by Sunshadow Coyote

Loved by many, but feeling so alone

It’s that overwhelming feeling that your thoughts are just a drone.

Piloted by this empty shell, created for one purpose you can’t see

Lifeless as a rusty gate, growing like a tree,

You wonder just how long before your time is sought and done,

Could the only goal in sight is to fight for blood and bone?

Fight for the roll of the dice, fight for the chance to learn,

The basics of what you started only in an underlying tone.

Creations only judgment is the perspective of how you see,

Loves simple gift of fate and strategized destiny.

But if all you do is strife for what isn’t yours,

Then what a good thief you will make when death knocks at your door.

I loved the last line and the relation to rolling dice as a connection to life. Very nice idea.
"Piloted by this empty shell, created for one purpose you can’t see
Lifeless as a rusty gate, growing like a tree,"
That line^ made me think. I think you had wonderful descriptions not only here but through the whole poem. That line in particular caught my attention as life often feels that way and sometimes I just dont know how to describe it--empty shell is ingenious.
Sometimes there's a lot more to people than what people first see or think. If this is self motivated, than I bet no one in your life could guess all that troubling you from the most minute details and enter the vast caverns of your mind.
I hope you find all the resolve you need, but keep writing...you seem to do that very well
