Dear comedian

Dear comedian

A Poem by Sane Betwixt

Dear comedian, I hope this letter finds you well.

It is in good humour that I write to you,

For I know you see the comedy in hell,

As I do too.

You make out our darkest days to be

A parody of human nature

Opening our eyes to see

How unsteady and unsure

We are upon our feet

How our fragile egos shatter

Into shards of obsolete

And we think what does it matter?

When we die there ends the joke

Forgetting there’s a punch line

The anomaly of hope

It hooks with ever reeling line

And drags us all the way through life

With razor wit you sever it

Which kept us ignorant of strife

That keeps us tethered where we sit

Too feared to turn our eyes from light

And see ourselves for what we are

We make a pretty sorry sight

You cannot take a joke too far

Perfect in every way. the style, word usage, image creation, and the perspective fresh, and slightly dark. Loved it.
